Providence, a full-service multidiscipline environmental and engineering consulting firm, is seeking a highly motivated JPN Coordinator.


  • Open, check-in and distribute all incoming mail, FedEx (UPS, DHL, etc), inter-agency and other correspondence, including faxes and 
  • Upload and/or scan into the electronic application system any internal and external documents/correspondence (applications, plats, fee payments, biological investigation reports, code sheets, Geologic Review Meeting documents, Emergency Use Authorization documents, mitigation section review documents, ) that have been submitted by means other than electronically (USPS, FedEx, email, fax, etc.)
  • Organize and store all scanned documents by date Provide copies of scanned documents to OCM personnel as necessary. 
  • Enter and upload information received on or with paper application forms into the online application form and submit on behalf of the Information must be entered exactly as it appears on the paper form(s).
  • Enter basic information from the application into the JPN 
  • Enter information into the JPN database regarding incoming requests for revisions, modifications, amendments, extensions, withdrawals, transfers, etc. of issued authorizations and pending 
  • Enter information into the JPN database for all checks and credit card payments Keep a detailed log of all checks received by OCM. Process and route as directed to OCM designated personnel and/or Accounting. 
  • Pull the correct quad maps (some projects will also require pulling the aerial IR photos and related files for previous applications) and accurately plot the locations of proposed 
  • Return quad maps and photos to their appropriate places. 
  • Take credit card payments over the 
  • Prepare and distribute daily reports of all application fee payments, all new permit applications, all revisions and all completed permit 
  • Prepare and send by FedEx or other overnight mail service as directed, the OCM preliminary determination report to the US Army Corps of Engineers New Orleans District (COE-NOD). 
  • Prepare file folders for applications that have been approved for authorization and deemed of Local Assign application numbers and prepare file folders for applications deemed to be Consistency actions.
  • Prepare and send a copy of revisions to paper applications/permits to COE-NOD, DEQ, Field Biologists, the State Lands Office, the Parish local program office, OCM's GIS section, OCM's Interagency Affairs Section (if the project is deemed of Local Concern), and OCMs Consistency section (if the project is deemed a consistency issue). 
  • Maintain analyst rotation schedule for Pre-application Log in and assign numbers to Emergency Use Authorization Requests.
  • Receive COE-NOD and DEQ application information and enter it into the JPN 
  • Provide basic assistance to applicants and/or agents regarding the permit application process and the process of completing 
  • Provide basic assistance to applicants and/or agents regarding incomplete
  • Route questions regarding the online system from the public, OCM personnel and other entities to the DNR help 
  • Develop and maintain JPN standard operating procedures (SOP) and recommend updates to the A copy of this SOP must be located at the OCM office. 
  • Cross reference and give to the appropriate personnel, or scan into the online system, any paperwork that comes in without proper identifying name or permit/consistency
  • Scan contents of paper files that are currently stored in-house, properly indexing the scanned images for posting to the correct document


Additional tasks may be assigned to the JPN personnel as deemed necessary


The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal knowledge, skill, and/or ability requirements of this position:

  • A bachelors or associates degree; or a minimum of 5 years experience in which clerical and computer work were major duties
